24. How do parents influence their children's social development?


Parents have many important influence on children's social development. Here I will specify three significant reasons as bellow:

First of all, parents are important role models for their children. Usually, children like to copy their parents. When children see their parents read, they read too. When children hear their parents talk about books or news, they will think these are interesting subjects, too. In addition, parental styles and attention and parent's self-concept all have important influence on children's life.

Secondly, parents make good decisions about children's social life. For instance, when I was young , my parents invited children over to play with me. I became very close to these children and we are still friends. Even though I am older now, my parents still guide me in my social life. I know they don't want me to hang out with the wrong crowd. They have more experience than I have and they can help me make decisions about my social life.

Thirdly, parents represents the center of children's lives. The early environment created by parents, they are responsible for teaching children cultural, values, attitude, and prejudices about themselves and others.

All these factors above, parent have significant influence on children's life.

21. What does it mean to be successful? What does it mean to be a looser?

Failure and success all usually appear in our life. In my opinion, a successful person not only need to have a lofty ideal, but also he has to make great effort to realize his ideal. Oppositely, if he just expect his dream become true and do nothing with efforts, he will be a looser.The way to success is full of various difficulties and obstacles. Many important inventions or discoveries were achieved after hundreds of failure. And only those successes which have been achieved after many failures are really valuable and praiseworthy.
